We did it...........and we did it with 30,000 other cyclists. That is The 5 Boro Bike Tour in New York City. This is the second year we completed this ride. Michael, Jim, Gayle, Tom, Ashley and I were the riders this year :) We did it last year too and the excitement of biking through the streets of Manhattan, soaring through Central Park, bopping over city bridges and all of that without traffic was just as amazing as it was the first time. I love going into the city and I never tire of it. I like getting a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty, grabbing a bite to eat at South Street Seaport, and doing all of that with family and friends. It's a very memorable day and I already look forward to doing it again next year. It's a lot of miles (close to 30 even with the short cut) but every mile is just as fun as the next, well, with the exception of the upgrade on the bridges (ha.........really burns the muscles :) Check it out, you might want to join us next year :)))))Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Hmmm, I never heard you speak of this before. Seems you and I should talk more, my friend. I'm not sure if my body is cut out for 30 miles on a bike - or on foot for that matter. You'd better give me fair warning if I'm going to join you on that ride next year!!!
Congrats on your ride,
Jen
That must have been totally exhilarating!! What a rush. I have started biking with my high energy pup, and just a 2 mile ride gives me a beautiful, natural high. My heart aches to hear about the Merritts! I am so happy for you. Keep that cycling up.

Robin - the picture, the words, you captured it all!! What a great day, and we're looking forward to it again next year!! ~Gayle
